It’s only been a month since I launched the site, and already it’s received more views and likes than I expected. Especially considering I haven’t done much to promote it. So to everyone who has stopped by, read a post, or quietly followed along, thank you. I really appreciate it.
Back in October, I laid out a few small goals to help get this thing off the ground. And somehow, I actually met them.
Since then, I’ve spent some time refining the layout and cleaning up the navigation. The For the Readers, For the Gamers, and State of the Blog sections are now better organized, with clearer divisions between fiction, campaign content, and design notes. That structure should make it easier to find what you’re looking for, whether you’re here for short stories, TTRPG material, or the strange grey matter between.
As for what’s coming up this month:
“Strangers on a Train”
A short story about quiet rituals, unspoken connection, and the slow ache of what never was. It’s a piece I’ve been shaping for a while and I’m looking forward to sharing it soon.
Pre-session for Strange Beginnings
The first story arc in the End of the Institute campaign begins with a one-on-one session tomorrow night with the target character. I’m planning to post a stylized version of that session by the end of the week.
Full group session of Strange Beginnings
The campaign kicks off properly this Saturday. As with the pre-session, I’ll be sharing the written session recap shortly after.
Cypher System
I’ll be writing up a post about why I use Cypher for most of my games and what makes it a good fit for the kinds of stories I like to tell.
Homebrew Rules and MESH Updates
I’ve got a few additions and refinements coming for both. The homebrew section will get a couple new mechanics and clarifications, and I’ll be tightening up the MESH playstyle documentation based on recent use.
Setting up the December One-Shot
Prep work is starting this month for a new one-shot I plan to run in December. I’ll post more as the details fall into place.
Thanks again for reading, subscribing, and just being part of this. I’ll keep building and sharing as I go.
See you soon,
Mason Beck
